Process and Concept:
Large volume atmospheric water generation refers to the process of extracting water from the atmosphere on a large scale. This innovative technology harnesses the natural moisture present in the air and converts it into clean, drinkable water. It offers a sustainable solution to address water scarcity in areas where traditional water sources are limited or contaminated.
The System Types:
There are various methods and devices used for large volume atmospheric water generation. Here are some of the common types:
Cooling Condensation Systems:
These systems use a refrigeration cycle to cool the air, causing the water vapor to condense and form liquid water. The condensed water is then collected and purified for use. Illustration of this process are found in many smaller systems and are widely used by military and other organisations for in field emergency water supply amongst other more permeant systems.
Compressing Air:
Removing the water condensate and vapour through a semipermeable membrane system. This method is the preferred system of LiGE Water from Air Generator as the main working portions only use two mediums, air, and electrical power, reducing the dependence on expensive maintenance. Providing a long-life span with minimal wear on the components.
Membrane dryers use the process of selective permeation of the gas components in the air. The dryer is a cylinder which houses thousands of tiny hollow polymer Fibers with an inner coating. These Fibers have selective permeation for the removal of water vapor.

Operational sequence:
Air, laden with moisture is compressed, the water because of the change of density is removed at the expander stage, via a membrane set, and condensing filter, the removed moisture is made available for storage in stainless steel tanks, the air, at pressure is cold and dry and may be used to cool dwellings, factories and other uses. The water separated will undergo remineralisation and sterilisation via Ultraviolet light, the air filter is electrostatic and is easily cleaned.
The technology is continuously evolving, and new systems may be developed in the future to improve efficiency and sustainability.
